Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Trusted Person by Safe Text (“the app”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Trusted Person by Safe Text is the companion app for people chosen as a trusted contact in Safe Text. It lets you help someone you know review text messages they have flagged as suspicious, and send your review decision back to them. The app receives only the messages that are explicitly shared with you for review; it does not read the SMS messages or contacts on your own device.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. It is not directed to children under 13, and by using it you confirm that you meet this age requirement and can form a binding agreement.
To use the app you verify your phone number with a one-time SMS code (OTP) through Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for keeping access to your phone number and device secure, and for the activity that occurs under your verified account. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply to the verification SMS.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
The app allows another person (someone using Safe Text) to share flagged messages with you and ask for your opinion on whether they are safe or spam. By acting as a trusted person, you agree to handle the information shared with you responsibly and only for the purpose of helping that person. Your review is advisory: your decision helps the other person but does not guarantee that a message is safe or harmful.
Deciding whether a message is legitimate is not always certain, and mistakes are possible. Neither your review nor the app should be relied upon as the sole means of protection against fraud, scams, or malware. Everyone involved should exercise independent judgment before responding to, clicking links in, or acting on any message.

The app relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging), to provide its features. Your use of those features is also subject to the applicable third-party terms, including Google’s terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services. How your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
The app, including its design, code, and content (excluding data and messages that belong to you or the person you help), is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or branding.
The app is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that reviews will correctly identify every safe or malicious message.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the app — including any harm resulting from a review decision or from a message that was wrongly assessed. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it, if any.
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app or any feature at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the app. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Du måste vara minst 13 år för att använda appen. Den riktar sig inte till barn under 13 år, och genom att använda den bekräftar du att du uppfyller detta ålderskrav och kan ingå ett bindande avtal.
För att använda appen verifierar du ditt telefonnummer med en engångskod via sms (OTP) genom Firebase Authentication. Du ansvarar för att hålla åtkomsten till ditt telefonnummer och din enhet säker, och för den aktivitet som sker under ditt verifierade konto. Vanliga avgifter för meddelanden och data från din operatör kan tillkomma för verifierings-sms:et.
Enligt dessa villkor beviljar vi dig en personlig, icke-exklusiv, icke-överförbar, återkallelig licens att installera och använda appen på enheter du äger eller kontrollerar, för ditt eget personliga, icke-kommersiella bruk.
Appen låter en annan person (någon som använder Safe Text) dela markerade meddelanden med dig och be om din åsikt om huruvida de är säkra eller skräp. Genom att agera som betrodd person samtycker du till att hantera informationen som delas med dig ansvarsfullt och endast i syfte att hjälpa den personen. Din granskning är rådgivande: ditt beslut hjälper den andra personen men garanterar inte att ett meddelande är säkert eller skadligt.
Att avgöra om ett meddelande är legitimt är inte alltid säkert, och misstag kan förekomma. Varken din granskning eller appen ska förlitas på som enda skydd mot bedrägeri, bluff eller skadlig kod. Alla inblandade bör använda sitt eget omdöme innan de svarar på, klickar på länkar i eller agerar på något meddelande.

Appen är beroende av tredjepartstjänster, inklusive Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore och Firebase Cloud Messaging), för att tillhandahålla sina funktioner. Din användning av dessa funktioner omfattas även av tillämpliga tredjepartsvillkor, inklusive Googles villkor och integritetspolicyer. Vi ansvarar inte för tillgängligheten, innehållet eller rutinerna hos tredjepartstjänster. Hur dina data hanteras beskrivs i vår Integritetspolicy.
Appen, inklusive dess design, kod och innehåll (med undantag för data och meddelanden som tillhör dig eller personen du hjälper), ägs av oss och skyddas av tillämpliga lagar om immateriella rättigheter. Dessa villkor ger dig inga rättigheter till våra varumärken eller vår varumärkesprofil.
Appen tillhandahålls ”I BEFINTLIGT SKICK” och ”I MÅN AV TILLGÄNGLIGHET” utan några garantier av något slag, vare sig uttryckliga eller underförstådda, inklusive men inte begränsat till garantier om säljbarhet, lämplighet för ett visst ändamål, noggrannhet och icke-intrång. Vi garanterar inte att appen kommer att vara oavbruten, felfri eller säker, eller att granskningar korrekt identifierar varje säkert eller skadligt meddelande.
I den maximala utsträckning som lagen tillåter ansvarar vi inte för några indirekta, tillfälliga, särskilda, följdmässiga eller straffande skador, eller någon förlust av data, vinst eller intäkter, som uppstår ur eller är relaterad till din användning av eller oförmåga att använda appen — inklusive skada till följd av ett granskningsbeslut eller ett meddelande som bedömdes felaktigt. Vårt totala ansvar för anspråk relaterade till appen överstiger inte det belopp du betalat för den, om något.
Du kan sluta använda appen när som helst genom att avinstallera den. Vi kan när som helst stänga av eller avsluta din åtkomst till appen eller någon funktion om du bryter mot dessa villkor eller om vi lägger ner appen. Avsnitt som till sin natur bör fortsätta gälla efter uppsägning (inklusive avsnitt 6, 9, 10, 11 och 13) fortsätter att gälla.
Vi kan uppdatera dessa villkor då och då. Väsentliga ändringar återspeglas genom att datumet ”Senast uppdaterad” ovan uppdateras. Din fortsatta användning av appen efter att ändringar trätt i kraft utgör godkännande av de reviderade villkoren.
